Earth Day 5K: Get Outside, Be Active in a Virtual Fun Run & Walk
La Grange IL – March 19, 2021– Earth Day is just around the corner, and you’re invited to get outside and enjoy the planet in the La Grange Earth Day 5K, a virtual fun run for a stronger and healthier business community.
The Earth Day 5K gives participants the freedom to run or walk their own route on their own time, from April 18-25, 2021, all while being part of something special. The run is organized by the La Grange Business Association, a group that strives to enhance the economic health of La Grange through support and advocacy of local businesses. It coincides with Earth Day which is recognized on April 22.
The registration fee is $25 prior to April 1 and $30 thereafter; it includes a t-shirt with the race logo and a finisher’s certificate. Registration is available here.
The La Grange Earth Day 5K is presented by Jackie Errico Fitness, a locally-based personal training fitness studio, along with support from Club Pilates La Grange, Boyce Chiropractic, Interfaith Community Partners, the Park District of La Grange and FitGive Movement.
Organizers say their first-ever virtual run is about being active, having fun and accomplishing personal goals. “It’s a challenge that allows you to run or walk from any location that you choose, share your results and pictures with us and receive a sweet t-shirt, too,” said the race sponsor, Jackie Errico.

“All around the globe, it has been a long and isolating year,” said Nancy Cummings, the executive director of the La Grange Business Association. “This 5K is a great reason to get outside, take care of your body and enjoy the beauty of the planet that we all share – even if the route you choose is your own neighborhood,” she said.
Coaching and training tips for the Earth Day 5K provided by local wellness businesses will be updated weekly to the La Grange Business Association Facebook page.
